Dirt darkens my nails beds.
Cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower,
and peas are in the ground,
along with several varieties of onions,
all sorts of spring greens and herbs
that flourish in cool soil.
Now, a break
before preparing
the summer fields
for sowing.
